If for some reason the text editor box refuses to change the color of your text there are a few things that can be done to change the color both in the source code editor and the HTML editor. Try using the source code editor first and use the HTML editor as a last resort.
Source Code Editor:
The text in the source code editor will be wrapped in a <span></span> containing all the fonts styles. To change the color of the text you need to edit the hex ref of color:#
For example: color:#444444 makes the text grey. If you change the hex code to ff0000 so the code will be color:#ff0000 this makes the text red.
If this fails then it’s time to try the HTML Editor:
The HTML editor shows you the full snippet. It is the same principle as the Source Code Editor in which you need to change the color:# in the <span></span> wrapping the text you’re wanting to change.
However, there will be a <td></td> wrapping the text AND the span. If this is the case, check if the <td> has a color:# style on it. If it has then change it as well as in the <span> but if it doesn’t have a color:# style then leave it and just change the <span>.
If neither of these work you may have encountered the issue where the text will not change from pink. If this is the case please refer to the blog post “Italic Editing”. If this is not the case then it may be another issue, please discuss with the Front End Team.
